CI-202 Stuck on Stabilizing and/or Spinning Up
CI-202 laser diode alignment causing unit to get stuck on stabilizing
Symptom: CI-202 is stuck on stabilizing or the lens motor spins at high speed.
Cause: Laser is out of alignment.
Solution: Laser Line Adjustment on CI-202 video *Verify that the USB cable is not connected while performing a measurement first!
Start CI-202 and then press up arrow and you see setup auto save , then press right arrow till you see setup scanner, then press enter, then up arrow until you see manual scan , then press enter (the motor will run continuously when you press enter).
Flip the instrument upside down, then cover the laser window with napkin or see-through paper to view laser line.
The Laser line will probably be adjusted too low. Though it should be close to the center and needs to be adjusted To adjust, loosen the 0.035” stopper screw , then rotate the 5/64”, adjustment screw using a just enough to allow movement of the laser line (just a hair).
Move laser line to be in the upper half of the window. (slightly above 50%) Then tighten the 0.035” stopper screw to set the position – noting that when you finally tighten the stopper screw it may move the laser slightly up/down, so check the final position of the laser line to be sure it’s midway in the scanner window **** to ensure accuracy of the instrument after laser alignment, it may be necessary to “compute the parameters” in the device.
